Shop now for Axle Universal Joints to fit 1946-1964 Jeep Utility Wagons and Utility Trucks equipped with the Dana-Spicer Model 25 Closed Knuckle Front Axles.
Three types of axle universal joints were used in Jeep Dana 25 axles including Bendix Ball, Rzeppa Constant Velocity, and Spicer Conventional Cross. Judging by the original Jeep part number, the Spicer type u-joint was introduced between 1957 and 1960, so many later production Jeep Closed Knuckle Dana 25 and most Dana 27 axles use Spicer 1310WJ series conventional axle u-joints. The 1310WJ solid cross, inside lock-up universal joint without seals is designed to be bathed in a semi-liquid lubricant from inside the closed knuckle balls. By today's standards, these u-joints are way undersized, but given the lighter vehicle weights and modestly powered engines of the time, the joint size was probably adequate. Jeep models from the 1940's to late 1950's used either Bendix Ball Rzeppa Axle Joints. Many of these older axles have been retro-fitted with the Spicer type axle shaft assemblies so it is imperative that you verify what type shaft you have before ordering parts. We do not have any Bendix Ball or Rzeppa CV universal joint parts.
