The Front Driveshafts on 2003-2013.5 Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks look to be quite similar to the untrained eye, there have been several engineering changes over the years so you have to identify what you have to order the specific parts needed to get you back on the road. Since early and late production driveshaft assemblies are often interchangeable, you MUST verify what components you have before ordering the correct parts. The photos below will show you what information is needed to ID your components.
The driveshafts covered in this section will have either 1330 series, 1350, or 1355 series U-Joints in the CV Head. All three types have u-joints that are 3-5/8" wide and use external snap rings to retain the caps. The outside width of the yoke ears is about 3-15/16". The overall width of the 1330 series cups are 1-1/16" in diameter. 1350 and 1355 series cup diameters are both 1-3/16". For the Ram 2500, 1350 series CV shafts were phased out and replaced by 1410 series shafts during the 2013 model year. Ram 3500 4x4s will have 1350 shafts to the end of the 2012 model year.
2013-2018 Ram 3500 trucks and 2013.5-2018 Ram 2500 4x4s will have a 1410 Series Front CV shaft that will measure about 4-1/2" across the yoke ears. If you have a 1410 series CV shaft, see our 2013-2018 Ram 1410 Front CV Shaft Page
