Ford used a great variety of rear drive shaft configurations for the 4x4 Excursion and 1999-2004 Super Duty® trucks. Before ordering rear driveshaft parts for your 4x4, you have to identify the part types used on your driveshaft. Ford used both Double Cardan* Constant Velocity and Single Cardan* rear driveshafts. Three different u-joints sizes are possible along with different sizes and types of slip joints. All the 4x4 Rear Driveshafts use steel tubing. Although many of the parts we list on this page will fit 4x2 trucks with steel driveshafts, we are unable to give specific 4x2 fitment information as 4x2 trucks are exceedingly rare around our mile high Montana headquarters. We do not offer parts for those 4x2 trucks with aluminum driveshafts.
*Cardan is a tech term used to describe the common cross type universal joint.
