1970-1977 Driveshaft Identification Bronco Front

Ford used Double Cardan Constant Velocity Joints in 1966 Broncos. Until 1970 Bronco serial number G70000, the front CV shafts used were Borg Warner units with a Mechanics style CV joint. The u-joints used on these early shafts were retained by C-Clips that fit against the inside of the yoke ears. By now, most of those early Borg Warner CV shafts have been replaced by Spicer Type CV shafts with Greaseable CV Balls and 1310 series external snap ring u-joints. From 1970 serial number G70001 through the end of the 1977 model year, all Ford Bronco 4x4 CV shafts use 1310 Series U-Joints and were built by Spicer. At this time we only supply parts for the Spicer type shafts.
