GM used several different steering knuckles in 1977-1991 GM 10 Bolt front axles. The differences are in the length of the spindle studs, the tie rod mounts and whether or not there is a tapped hole that takes a small bolt used to stabilize the brake shield. The ball joint and spindle holes machined in the knuckles are the same for all years.
1977-1991 GM 10 Bolt front axles use a short, adjustable drag link that couples the steering gear pitman arm to the axle steering arm bolted to the top of the left knuckle. A long, adjustable tie rod attaches to the integral knuckle steering arms.
