Dodge used both hex and round spindle nuts on standard Dana 44 closed knuckle front axles. W-100 1/2 ton trucks up through 1968 and all the W-200 3/4 ton models through 1971 will have 1-3/4" spindle threads, external mount hubs and use a 4 piece spindle nut set with 2 hex nuts, a flat inner spindle washer and a bend over tab lockwasher. 1969 to 1971 W-100 models with internal splined wheel hubs use a 3 piece round spindle nut set with 1-5/8" thread nuts with four slots.
One of these Bushings are pressed into the inboard side of each spindle to support your outer axle shaft. These are one of the most common 1957-1971 Dodge Dana 44 closed knuckle front end parts requiring replacement as both the thrust face and inside diameter of the Bushing are subject to wear.
