Shift Parts, Major Ram NV271D Transfer Case

Your Dodge or Ram New Process/New Venture NV271D Transfer Case can be manually shifted for Mode (4x2, Neutral, 4x4) and Range (1:1 Direct Drive High Range and 2.72:1 Low Range). Since the 2003 and newer Dodge Ram 4x4s that use NV271D Transfer Cases do not have front axle lockout hubs, you should be able to easily shift the transfer case into and out of 4x4 High Range on the go to compensate for changing road conditions. Forcing the Transfer Case into gear will result in engagement teeth wear. Most NV271D Transfer Cases will never need any of the major shifting parts replaced, but if your unit does, we stock the genuine original equipment replacement components you need.
