Ford used 2 different Pinion Yokes on 1985-1991 era F-350 4x4 Dana 60 Front Axles. The two yokes are identical except for the slinger (deflector). Some of the 1985 pinion yoke units have a U-shaped QU40401 Slinger. All the other trucks use QU20179 pinion yokes which has a cone shaped deflector. Both original equipment pinion yokes use QU40841 U-bolts to secure the oversize 1.125" u-joint cups used on the Ford specific 1330F universal joints (See TK40723 and QU40776). The original QU20179 1330F Pinion Yokes are now out of production although we still have some available as of September 2011. A less expensive and more readily available alternative to the original yoke is to replace the 1330F u-joint with a straight 1330 U-joint (TK40721, (QU40774) and use either QU40509 or QU40713 1330 series pinion yokes.
