NV5600 Transmissions use caged needle bearings to support rotating gears. The bearing caged may be either plastic or metal. There are also 3 replaceable inner races. The ball bearing supports the end of the mainshaft. It is secured to the shaft by QU10850 mainshaft nut. Country of origin on the bearings will vary from lot to lot. Most are U.S.A. made, but some come from overseas with Germany and Japan being the most common offshore sources.
Guys, See the photo to see what happens if you let your NV5600 transmission lube level get low or old. This can also occur if the Mainshaft end-play is set incorrectly. This Mainshaft Center Bearing was taken from a 2005 Ram 3500 ranch truck with about 80,000 miles on the odometer. As we say in Montana: "that outfit was rode hard and put away wet". The transmission oil level was never checked from Day 1.
