We still have brand new left and right Axle Shafts in stock for 1983-1997 Ford 4x4s with Dana 50 IFS Front Axle. Production on these shafts ended years ago, so when our current limited inventory is exhausted that will be the end of new assemblies. Our available used axle shaft inventory is also limited due to the Cash for Clunkers program and high scrap prices which has sent large numbers of 1983-1997 Fords with Dana 50 axles straight to the crusher.
The Dana 50 IFS axle has 3 axle universal joints, one for the left side and two for the right side. For the 460 gas engine and later diesel trucks, this size u-joint is a bit on the small size. For the Dana 50, we offer QK4874 Greaseable U-joint as an inexpensive alternative to our TK40719 cold-forged, solid cross, non-greaseable u-joint which is our as our maximum strength option for these axles. QK4874 Greaseable U-joint is a whole lot cheaper compared to TK40719, but there is some strength loss since it is cross-drilled for grease passage.
