Axle ID 1960-1966 GM Dana 44

GM used closed knuckle Dana 44 axles in Chevy and GMC 4x4 trucks for the 1960-1969 model years. A standard Dana 44 with 8 bolt knuckle seals was used for 1/2 ton and most 3/4 ton models. An optional Dana 44HD axle with 12 bolt knuckle seals was available for 3/4 ton trucks from 1962-1969
