Ram upgraded the front constant velocity driveshaft to a massive, industry leading 1410 series shaft along with the 3 link suspension AAM 925 electric disconnect front axle starting with the Ram 3500 in 2013. The RAM 2500 got the new shaft and axle for the 2014 model year. The big, 1410 series shafts replace the smaller 1350 series shafts which were used on 2004.5-2012 Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 models. The RAM 2014-2018 2500 and 2013-2018 RAM 3500 are the only production vehicle models that have a stock 1410 front CV shaft through the 2018 model year. RAM 4500 and Ram 5500 trucks retained a platform specific, 1350 shaft through 2018.
2018 was the last year Ram used a Double-Cardan Front CV Driveshaft in the Ram 2500 and Ram 3500.
