We stock a large selection of Front Axle parts for 1999, 2000, 2001 , 2002, 2003, and 2004 model year Super Duty 4x4s. The F250/F350 and F450/F550 Dana 60 front axles share many common parts, but the inner axle shafts, wheel hubs, and brakes are different.
When the 1999 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty® trucks were first introduced all the Single Rear Wheel (SRW) models used a Dana-Spicer Model 50 front axle. Externally, the Model 50 Axle looks almost exactly like a Model 60 used in the Dual Rear Wheel (DRW) trucks; however, all the internal differential components are substantially smaller. Starting in the 2002 model year, a SRW version of Dana 60 became available. By the start of the 2003 model year, the Dana 60 had completely replaced the Dana 50 in all F-Series Super Duty models.
Most of the Model 60 axle components for the F-250/F350 and F-450/F550 remained unchanged throughout the six-year product cycle (1999-2004), but there are some year to year differences including outer axle shafts, knuckle seals, and wheel hubs. We have a variety of parts, tools, and service information available for your 1999 to 2004 Super Duty®.
Compared to the preceding F-250 and F-350 4x4s, your 1999 to 2004 era Super Duty® 4x4 front axles has a number of design differences that require unique tools and repair procedures especially in regards to the outer axle shaft and wheel hub. Servicing these axles is not hard, IF you know what to expect and have access to accurate service information at least a couple of special tools.
