The 1960-1966 model era covered a great deal of change in the mechanics and design of GMC's trucks — a 1960 Chevy truck is fairly different than a 1966 model. For example, the 235 six-cylinder engine was discontinued and torsion bar front suspension was replaced with a conventional coil spring system in 1962.
