QU30034 GM (8 bolt hourglass) SM465, CH465, M20 Muncie 4 Speed Manual Transmission to Rear Housing or Transfer Case Adapter Gasket is a thick gasket that fits between the back of your 4 speed transmission case and front of either a 4x4 transfer case adapter or 4x2 Rear Extension Housing. Fits 465 series Muncie 4 Speed manual transmissions from 1968 to 1991. QU30034 is an Original Equipment Spec gasket made to precise dimensions for proper clearances. Made in Montana.
TK30034 is a late production genuine GM gasket that superseded the original design circa 1985.

Tech Note 1: Transmission Design
The Muncie 4 speed transmission was designed to be used with cut paper gaskets. For proper clearances, always use one of these thick thickness gaskets when working on you transmission!
Tech Note 2: When Installing
When using a gasket between two precision ground cast iron casings, you do not need to cake sealant on the gasket to get a leak-proof seal. If you wish to fill a gouge or use a sealant to hold the gasket in place during assembly, only apply a very thin film!
