Shop now for Axle Shafts and Universal Joints to fit 1972-1975 Ford F-100 with Dana 44 Open Knuckle Front Axles.
From 1966 through 1972 Ford F100 1/2 ton axle shafts used Spicer 1310WJ series axle universal joints with 1-1/16" diameter cups. Starting in the 1973 model year, Ford beefed up the axle shaft u-joint for the F100 to the more durable Spicer 1350WJ size which has 1-3/16" diameter cups. Before ordering axle u-joints for transition year models, verify the diameter of the axle universal joint cups!
1966-1972 F- 100: Axle U-Joint Cup Size is 1-1/16".
1973-1979 F-100/F-150 and 1978-1979 Bronco: Axle U-Joint Cup Size is 1-3/16"
For the early, small 1-1/16" u-joint, we have only one non-greaseable choice as the small cross will lose too much strength if drilled for lube channels. We offer two different medium size 1-3/16" Universal Joints. Both are good, reliable products, but different manufacturing techniques and seal types will have a major influence on the ultimate life of the joint under most conditions.
