Early Dodge NP205D Speedometer Gears are steel. Later production gears are plastic. The steel gears have a smooth inside bore and are held in place by friction from the rear output yoke. Steel gears are very hard to find, but fortunately, they rarely require replacement. Plastic Gears with inside splines replaced the steel gears in the early 1970's.
