QU50171 Booted Rear Output Seal for 98-02 NP241DHD Transfer Cases

QU50171 Booted Rear Output Seal fits all 1998 to 2002 NP241DHD Transfer Cases and 1996-1997 NP241DHD Transfer Cases with 31 spline output shafts and a slip yoke that is approximately 2-3/16" in diameter. Made in Mexico.

The matching Tailshaft or Rear Output Bushing is QU90025.

Applications

Tech Note 1: Rotate
As you can see in the photo, the boot on this seal is equipped with a weep hole. When installing your new seal, be sure to have the seal rotated so the weep hole will be at the lowest point. This will ensure water and oil seepage can escape.

Tech Note 2: Lubricate
Lubricate the Seal lips and driveshaft slip yoke with petroleum jelly to provide initial lubrication.

Tech Note 3: NP241DHD Transfer Cases
NP241DHD Transfer Cases were standard on 1994-2002 Ram 3500 4x4 trucks and optional on Ram 2500 4x4 models.

Tech Note 4: 1996-2002
Most 1996 NP241DHD Transfer Cases had two piece tailshaft housings, a small 32 spline output shaft and use QU10610 Seal. Most 1997 and all 1998-2002 NP241DHD Transfer Cases have a 31 spline output shaft, one piece tailshaft housings, and use this seal.
