Tech Note 1: U-Joint Specs
QU40890 Slip Yoke takes external snap ring universal Joints made to Spicer 1410 series specifications. The cup size is 1-3/16" and the overall width of the u-joint is 4-3/16". The matching, medium size universal joints for this Slip Yoke are TK40705 non-greasable or QU40789 greasable. The matching Dust Boot is QU40883.

Tech Note 2: Yoke Specs
QU40890 Slip Yoke fits 23 based on 24 and 24 spline stubs that are about 1-9/16" in diameter. The length from the center of the u-joint hole to the end of the spline is approximately 6-29/32".

Tech Note 3: Do Not Force Yoke On
The Ford 24 spline slip stubs that match this 23 spline based on 24 spline Slip Yoke have two adjacent splines that are slightly oversize. These two splines are used to properly index the Slip Yoke which is missing one internal spline which is used to match the oversize splines. To the naked eye, you usually can not tell which two slip stub splines are oversize unless it is a later production part that is factory marked with a yellow strip between the splines. The Slip Yoke will easily slip on your stub splines in one and only one position! The u-joint holes in the yoke will always line up with the u-joint holes in the weld yoke at the opposite end of the driveshaft. If the yoke will not fit when the yoke holes are lined up, rotate the yoke 180° and try again. Do Not Force the yoke on as doing so will irreparably damage the plastic anti-friction coating on the stub splines!
