Before Assembly
Verify Splines
Applications
Tech Note 1: Before Assembly
Apply a thin film of clean grease or petroleum jelly to both sides of the thrust washers before assembly.
Tech Note 2: Verify Splines
This Gear Kit will NOT work on Dana 70 axles with 35 spline axle shafts. If you are not sure what your axle shaft spline count is, pull a shaft and count the splines! Both spline counts were available on different axles built in the 1960's to mid 1970's.
