Dan the Gear Man® Tech Notes:
Use
Application
Tech Note 1: Use
These 9/16" 12 point sockets are typically used to remove/install corroded metric front hub to knuckle bolts on 1994 to 2002 Dodge Ram 4x4 trucks with Dana-Spicer front drive axles. The 12 point metric bolt heads are actually 14mm, but, when the heads get rusty, a 14mm socket can be a bit too tight. Whenever possible, I use our QT1022 14mm 12 point socket even if I have to tap the socket onto the bolt head. The difference between 14mm and 9/16" is just over 0.011".
Tech Note 2: Application
Any 9/16" 12 point fastener or corroded 14mm 12 point fasteners (most commonly found on 1994-2001 Dodge Ram 1500 and 1994-2002 Dodge Ram 2500, 3500 4x4 front hub to knuckle bolts)
