Tech Note 1: End of EcoDiesel Production
The third generation 3.0L EcoDiesel was only used for four model years: 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023. Although the engine was a popular option for Ram 1500 and Jeep owners, it was phased out of the Ram 1500 and Jeep Wrangler by early 2023. The last production vehicle to use the EcoDiesel was the 2023 Jeep Gladiator. To close the chapter on the EcoDiesel, 1,000, final production, Gladiator Rubicon EcoDiesel FarOut models could be be ordered through the end of September 2023. The official reason for killing off the EcoDiesel is Ram/Jeep corporate parent Stellantis is focusing on electrification with the implication that current electric technology will equal what the EcoDiesel offered for performance and range. As of the fall of 2023, there is NO electric vehicle technology that can equal a diesel engine for range or the ability to continuously operate in very cold or very hot climates. Most buyers of the EcoDiesel bought it because of the range, towing torque, all weather capability, and speed of refueling it offers. Not many EcoDiesel owners are going to rush to the dealerships to trade-off their vehicle for any of the current or next generation of electric vehicles.

Tech Note 3: Cabin Air Filter Installation
The cabin air filter(s) in 2018-up Jeep JL/JLU Wrangler and 2020-and newer Jeep JT Gladiator is located under the dash in front of the glove box. The glove box must be removed to replace the filter(s). Base Sport models usually do not come with a cabin filter. Depending upon the optional equipment on your Jeep, access to the filter may be a bit restricted. Your Jeep may have either (1) 68535621AA Standard Cabin Air Filter OR two 68364653AA Premium Cabin Air Filters. The two types are interchangeable and fit the same location. The standard filter has a standard filter media with less pleats and it measures about 7-3/4" long x 9-1/2" wide.  The premium filter has a treated filter media material with more pleats and it measures about 7-3/4" long x 4-3/4" wide. To install the standard filter on most Jeep JLs/JTs, you need to scrunch it up to fit past other equipment to get it into the air filter slot. Once installed, the filter should spring back into shape. Since the premium filter is 1/2 the width of the standard model, it is easier to install each of the 2 required filters. Slip one into place, then slide it over and install the second one. You should replace your cabin air filter at least once a year or more often in dusty, dirty conditions.
