Tech Note 1: Clutch Replacement
If your old clutch pivot Ball is not perfectly round on the fork contact point, it should be replaced. Chances are, if you need a clutch, you also need a new clutch pivot ball. This is a critical, but usually overlooked part that should be replaced at every clutch job. A worn-out Pivot Ball changes the release point and can increase the amount of pedal effort you need to apply to disengage the clutch. Almost every 1994-93 truck we did a NV4500 transmission conversion or clutch job on had a fork Pivot Ball with a badly worn ball surface.
