Tech Note 1: 1977-78 GM
1977 and at least some 1978 GM 1 ton Dana 60 front wheel hubs were NOT grooved to accept the big snap ring used to retain the QU56111 hub body. To install QU56111 lockouts on those early GM , you either need to have your hubs modified by a machine shop or if you have a Single Rear Wheel truck, order TKA4962/TK4963 New Replacement SRW Wheel Hubs

Tech Note 2: Lubricate
Lubricating the moving parts on lockout hubs is critical for long life. When servicing your hub locks, use a THIN film of water proof grease like Pyroplex Plus on the moving metal parts. Do not pack the moving lockout parts with grease as this can cause engagement issues especially during cold weather. I like to liberally coat the fixed hub and axle shaft splines with grease for corrosion protection, but I only use a thin film of grease on the moving metal parts. I also like to brush a little heavy gear oil on the inside plastic dial components.

Tech Note 3: 1999-2004 Ford DRW
QU56111 Hubs will not fit 1999-2004 Ford Super Duty F350, F450, or F550 trucks with Dual Rear Wheels due to interference between the Lockout Hub and front wheel adapter
