Tech Note 1: Hub Service Kit
For QU56018 Hub Service Kit, See: QK4918.

Tech Note 2: Before Installation
Lightly coat the axle shaft and wheel hub splines with grease before installation.

Tech Note 3: Spindle Nuts
Ford models originally equipped with automatic hubs and a single spindle nut will require replacing the original spindle nuts with two QK4727 Spindle Nut and Washer Sets.

Tech Note 4: Spring and Spring Plate
If you are replacing a Spicer factory hub set or Spicer/GM full time drive gear, you DO NOT reuse the original QU40050 Spring and QU40035 Cupped Spring Plate.

Tech Note 5: Inner Thrust Washers and Snap Rings
Some original axle shafts had an axle shaft snap ring located back by the spindle. Typically, these snap rings retained either a one-piece or three-piece thrust washer against the spindle. On most of these later model applications, the inner thrust washer(s) and snap ring are NOT used with this hub!
