QU11039U USED Planetary Lock or Thrust Plate for New Process Chain Drive Transfer Cases is a used part that fits most New Process and New Venture chain drive transfer cases with low range. The Tanged Lock Plate is the heavy 1/8" thick cast iron thrust plate that is located between the outer plastic Planetary Thrust Washer and the Planetary Snap Ring. Available while supplies last. (QU11039 replaces QU50667 Lock Plate)

Tech Note 3: 2 Tang vs 3 Tang
QU11039U has two tangs that fit into slots in the planetary carrier. It fits almost all the NPG and NVG mid to full size 2 speed transfer cases up to 2012. Many later production transfer cases and replacement planetary assemblies use a lock plate with 3 tangs. QU11039U will not fit planetary carriers with 3 slots.

When Ford (1999 models) Dodge (2003 models), and GM (2003 models) first used NV271 and NV273 transfer cases, New Process Gear (NPG) of East Syracuse N.Y was part of New Venture Gear (NVG). When NVG dissolved, NPG continued on under Chrysler. Chrysler subsequently sold the production rights to Magna, a Canadian automotive parts company. All these name changes are confusing, but the important thing to know is a specific assembly number for any 271F, 271D, 273D, and 273F transfer case is the same and uses the same replacement parts regardless if it was built by New Venture, New Process, or Magna.
