Applications
Tech Note 1: MUST Be Greased Before Each Use!
TK52298 Axle U-Joints are NOT designed for regular road use or for use on your daily driver and they MUST be greased before each use. To obtain maximum cross strength, the journal diameters were increased and the needle bearings used in conventional u-joints were eliminated. This means the bearing cap is directly in contact with the cross journal. This is typically not a problem for competition and offroad use as the speed and length of operation are usually modest compared to that of daily driver. Bottom line is do not install these u-joints unless your need for strength is greater than your need for low maintenance.
Tech Note 2: Snap Rings
TK52298 Axle U-Joints include full circle snap rings for maximum retention. These snap rings are a direct fit to our Torque King performance axle shafts. If you want to use these u-joints with stock Spicer axle shafts, the inside of the axle shaft yoke ears will need to modified to accept the 360 degree contact snap ring.
