Tech Note 1: Installing
Most axle shaft universal joint service is done using makeshift tools and hammering on the parts until something gives. Axle Shafts and Axle universal joints are precise components that can be easily damaged by such slam-bang work. There is a better way to perform u-joint service using application specific press tooling and approved service procedures such as those illustrated in my four page, color illustrated, TSB4597 Dodge Truck AAM Front Axle Shaft Service Tech Bulletin. Tech Note 3: Safety Warning
There is a lot of chat on the Internet about using your power steering to force the hub assembly out of the knuckle. It may work, but it is insanely dangerous to do, plus it severely stresses the steering linkage, steering gear, and frame. If you have a suicide complex fine, go ahead and do it, just make sure I am not on the same road you are when your steering fails and you kill yourself!
