QU50813 1977-1991 GM 10 Bolt 1310 Series Pinion Yoke with Slinger for Chevy and GMC Blazer, Jimmy, Suburban, 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton 4x4 trucks with GM 8-1/2" ring gear, 10 Bolt, beam type front axles. QU50813 also fits 1978 G20 Van and 1979-1981 C10/C15 1/2 ton, 10 Bolt, 8-1/2" ring gear rear axles. QU50813 is a 30 spline replacement Yoke that uses QU40768 U-Bolts to retain the u-joint instead of straps and bolts.

Tech Note 1: U-Joint Specs
QU50813 accepts external snap ring u-joints made to Spicer 1310 series dimensional specifications. Cup diameter is 1-1/16", overall width of installed u-joint is 3-7/32". Matching u-joints are TK40720 or QU40784.
Tech Note 2: Verify U-Joint Size
General Motors used 8-1/2" 10 Bolt Rear axle in a number of different light duty vehicle types. Some years and models use different size u-joints. Before ordering this yoke for your rear axle, verify your u-joint size!
Tech Note 3: GM 10 Bolt vs. Dana 44
The 8.5" GM 10 Bolt beam type front axle was used in most 1977.5-1980 GM Blazer, Jimmy, Suburban plus 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton pickups. During those years, GM also used Dana 44 axles. The two axles are easy to tell apart by the cover. 10 Bolt Covers are fairly oval with only one straight edge. The Dana 44 cover is an irregular hexagon with six distinct flat edges. Dana 44 axles also have a 26 spline pinion stem.
Tech Note 4: 8.5" Front/Rear
GM 8.5" front and rear axles use the same pinion yoke, but different pinion seals.
Tech Note 5: Lubricate
Both the Seal Lip and Pinion Yoke hub must be lubricated with a film of clean grease to provide initial lubrication.
