Tech Note 1: Check Oil Level
These transfer cases are shipped by New Venture with a factory fill of oil, but leakage can occur during shipping if the case is tipped. Always check the oil level after installation and refill as needed.

Tech Note 2: Product Note
QU50797 assembly is the last production model of 52125027 NP241DHD series of transfer cases. The transfer case itself will physically fit in place of earlier 1998-2002.5 52105027, 52105027AB, 52105027AC transfer cases but there are two differences that you need to be aware of if you wish to use this case to replace one of the earlier models. QU50797 transfer case was used on 2002 model year trucks without the vacuum controlled central axle disconnect so it is not synchronized and it has a different shift cam with an electric indicator switch instead of of a vacuum switch. As far as we can tell, you can directly replace the electric switch with QU10569 vacuum switch to engage the front axle. However since QU50797 is not synchronized, you will not be able seamlessly shift on the go at higher speeds (when replacing a 52105027, 52105027AB, or 52105027AC transfer case) unless you make a simple spacer to permanently move the front axle shift fork into the engaged position.

Tech Note 3: Slip Yoke
The output shaft has 31 splines. If you need a matching slip yoke, order QU40354 OEM replacement slip yoke.

Tech Note 4: Gasket
Dodge did not use a gasket between the transmission and transfer case as both the transmission output shaft and transfer case input shaft are sealed. However, you can use TK10519 Transmission to Transfer Case Gasket if you wish.
