QU50581 Differential Bearing and Seal Kit for all Ford Dana 50 Twin Traction Beam IFS and Monobeam Front Axles in F250/F350 4x4 trucks and Excursions. Kit includes Timken® Pinion and Differential Bearings with Cups, plus aftermarket replacement pinion seals, pinion nut, basic pinion preload shim kit (1980-1997), and crush sleeve (1999-2005). Also includes RTV sealant, threadlocker, gear marking compound and brush. Tech Note 1: Only Ford
Ford is the only vehicle manufacturer to use Dana 50 front axles. Dana 50 axles were introduced for the 1980 model year as an independent front suspension axle for F250 heavy-duty (1980-1997) and F350 (1980-1985.5). The Dana 50IFS axle was built for the North American market through the 1997 model year. I believe, it was also used on overseas built F250s to 1998. The Dana 50 monobeam axle debuted in 1999 model year F250 and F350 4x4s followed by the Excursion in 2000. The monobeam axles had a relatively short production life of 6 years with production ending in 2005 when Ford axed the Excursion (Although some 2005 Excursions were sold as 2006 models in Mexico)

Tech Note 2: IFS vs Monobeam Axles
Although all Dana 50 axles use the same bearings, there are internal differences between IFS and Monobeam axles. The 1980-1997 IFS axles have one of two types of right axle shaft support bearings, external axle shaft seals, use shims for pinion preload, and have a metal slinger on the pinion yoke. 1999-2005 Monobeam axles do NOT have inner axle shaft support bearings, use internal axle shaft seals, use a crush sleeve for pinion preload, have an inner and outer pinion seal, and do not have a metal slinger on the pinion yoke.
