QU50450 Aftermarket Replacement Adapter Gasket is a typical aftermarket gasket that does not meet original equipment specs for die cut dimensions, thickness or paper quality, however, for the low budget repair, it is far better to use one of these instead of assembling your case without gaskets. QU50450 fits all Chevy/GMC 10 or 27 spline and Dodge 23 spline New Process NP205 transfer cases.

Tech Note 1: Fairly Thick Gasket
The NP205 Transfer Case was designed to have paper gaskets of specific thicknesses between mating parts. This gasket is a fairly thick gasket. The precise thickness of this gasket is to ensure there is adequate clearance between the adapter and transfer case input bearing. Also, on Dodge applications, the thickness of the two adapter gaskets insures the snap ring in the center of the female splined coupler will not be jammed between the transmission output shaft and transfer case input shaft, a condition that can lead to input bearing failure. Do not substitute chemical sealers such as RTV for paper gaskets on any NP205 mating parts except for the PTO cover.

Tech Note 2: Not for Large Bore Input Bearings
QU50450 and TK10516 Hourglass Adapter Gaskets do NOT fit Dodge 29 spline or GM 32 spline NP205 Transfer Cases which have Large Bore Input Bearings. For these applications, see TK10529.
