QU50323 Replacement NV271D, NV273D, BW4446, BW4447 Boot Type Transfer Case Rear Output Seal for 2003- Current Dodge and Ram  is an aftermarket replacement transfer case rear output seal  extended wiper boot to exclude dirt and debris. Fits 2003-current Ram 2500, Ram 3500 with either New Venture or Borg Warner Transfer Cases that have Slip Yoke Type Rear Output Shafts. Applications include all 2003-2012 Dodge Ram New Process NV271D Manual Shift Transfer Cases and NV273D Electric Shift Transfer Cases with Slip Yoke Type Rear Output Shafts PLUS all 2012-current Ram Borg Warner 4446 Electric Shift or 4447 Manual Shift Transfer Cases with Slip Yoke Type Rear Output Shafts. Tech Note 1: Lube
Before installation, lubricate the seal lip with clean grease to provide initial lubrication. Also coat your slip yoke with a thin film of clean grease before installation.

Tech Note 2: Installation
For fast and easy installation, order optional QT2070 Seal Installer. When installing your new seal, rotate the Seal so the drainage drain hole in the extended Boot will be at the bottom.

Tech Note 3: NPG-NVG-MPT
When Ford (1999 models) and Dodge (2003 models) first used NV271 and NV273 transfer cases, New Process Gear (NPG) of East Syracuse N.Y. was part of New Venture Gear (NVG). When NVG dissolved, NPG continued on under Chrysler. Chrysler subsequently sold the production rights to Magna, a Canadian automotive parts company. All these name changes are confusing, but the important thing to know is a specific assembly number for any 271F, 271D, 273D, and 273F transfer case is the same and uses the same replacement parts regardless if it was built by New Venture, New Process, or Magna.
