Tech Note 1: Same Parts
QU50191 and QU10688 are the same part. When New Process Gear and GM's Muncie Transmissions merged to form New Venture Gear we found both companies used the same part but with different part numbers so we consolidated our part numbers.

Tech Note 2: Part Life Span
Under normal service conditions, these magnets will not wear out, but they will usually break if dropped.

Tech Note 3: Filter Kit
Unless one is equipped with our QK1000 Filter Kit, most manual transmissions and 4x4 transfer cases do not have any method to cleanse the oil of magnetic contaminants except for the Chip Magnet. Do NOT assemble your transfer case or transmission without a Chip Magnet!!

Tech Note 4: Muncie Transmission Plant
A few years after New Venture split into New Process Gear (now Magna) and Manual Transmissions of Muncie, GM shut down the Muncie transmission plant.
