Tech Note 2: Lubricate
Your New Wheel Bearings must be packed and the wheel seal lip lubricated with NLGI #2 Grease before placing these parts in service.

Tech Note 3: Fits
TK4911 fits 1960-1971 Chevy or GMC 1/2 ton, 1969-1974 Dodge W100, 1959-1969.5 Ford F100, F250 (standard axle), 1966-1969.5 Ford Bronco, 1964-1973 IHC 1100 1/2 ton, and 1974-1976 Front Drum Brake equipped Jeep Wagoneer, Cherokee, and J10 truck.

Tech Note 4: 1972 GM
Some aftermarket sources list QU50654 seal being used as late as 1972, however, my 1972 era Chevy parts book only lists it up to 1971. Disc brakes became standard in 1971 which means hub temperatures are higher than they usually are with drum brakes. Effective with the 1972 model year, the simple QU50654 seal was replaced by QU50091 double lip spring seal. My 1967-1972 GMC parts book (which was printed in 1976) shows QU50091 as the seal to use for both 1971 and 1972. I always installed QU50091 seal in all GM 1/2 ton disc brake hubs including 1971. For drum brake applications, I used QU50654 due to a thickness difference that can lead to interference problems with some drum brake hubs.
