QK4850 Greaseable Ball Joint Kit For 2003-2013 Dodge Ram AAM 925 14 Bolt Front Axles in 2003-2013 Dodge Ram 2500 and 2003-2012 Ram 3500 4x4 trucks. Also fits 2004-2010 Ram 1500 Mega Cab with the solid beam 4x4 front axle. Each kit includes 4 GREASEABLE (2 Upper, 2 Lower) Ball Joints with hardware for moisture laden applications like snow plowing. Includes new Locking Nuts for the tie rod ends, Cotter Keys for the axle shaft nuts, Threadlocker, Anti-seize, and Synthetic Brake Caliper Lube. Assembled in U.S.A. of domestic and imported components.

NOTE:  These are serrated ball joints designed for knuckles that have stretched a little.  Once serrated ball joints are installed, factory or smooth ball joints will not fit properly anymore.

Tech Note 1: AAM 925 14 Bolt 
The 2003-2013 AAM 925 9-1/4" 14 Bolt 4x4 Front Axle was use in all 2003-2012 Ram 2500, Ram 3500 4x4s. For 2013, this axle was only used in the Ram 2500 models. The Axle can be identified by the 5 link suspension (4 short arms behind the axle plus the Track Bar bolted to the front of the axle and the lack of a Central Axle Disconnect system). The 2003-2013 AAM 925 14 Bolt Front Axle has had issues with short Ball Joint life ever since it was introduced with the 2003 Ram. While product and lubricant improvements have helped, the the Axle and Steering Knuckle configuration is the root cause of most of the problems. Tech Note 3: Upper Ball Joint Stud
The Stud on the Upper Ball Joint will move in and out about 5/16" so it may look like your new Ball Joint and old Ball Joint have different length studs. See Tech Page on Ball Joint Issues before ordering.

Tech Note 5: Before Removing
The first time an AAM axle has to comes apart, it is usually an absolute WITCH to separate the wheel hub assemblies from the steering knuckle as AAM did not use any anticorrosion compound between the wheel hub flange and steering knuckle. I strongly suggest you get my color illustrated, step by step 6 page Tech Service Bulletin TSB4586 4x4 Dodge Truck Ball Joint Service 9.25 Axle so you know what you are getting into. Almost all the wheel hubs we sell for these AAM axles are to replace original hubs wrecked by slam bang disassembly methods. The good news is, if you properly reassemble your axle, the next time you need to take the hubs off, they will come right off with no trouble at all.

Tech Note 6: Removing
Unlike older trucks, AAM 9-1/4" Dodge Ram front axle ball joints are pressed into the axle itself, not the steering knuckle, so you can't use a shop press like the 94-99 trucks. I Strongly recommend you have the TS1082 Ball Joint Press Set when removing your old ball joints and pressing the new ones in.
