Applications
Tech Note 1: Not Included
Does not include outer axle shaft seals. Although the axle shaft support bearing is the same QU40149, two types of Seals were used. 1980-1992 axles (Type 1) used QU40064 press-on metal slinger, plus two seals and a thrust washer (see QU40168). 1993-1997 axles (Type 2) used two press-on seals (see QU40372). Although the individual seals are not interchangeable, you can use the complete Type 1 or Type 2 seal configurations on any year. I personally prefer the Type 1 type as it seems to be both more effective and longer lasting.
