Tech Note 2: Spindle Nut Socket
If you need a Spindle Nut Socket, order QT1012 or QT1025.

Tech Note 3: Pack Bearings
Before installing your new bearings, pack them with QU90018 Pyroplex® grease or other quality, disc brake rated, NLGI Grade 2 wheel bearing grease. I recommend you use QT5500 Wheel Bearing Packer to pack the bearings, but however you pack the bearings, your grease has to be clean and it MUST fill all the air spaces under the cage and between the bearing rollers.

Tech Note 4: Installers
Your new wheel bearing cups MUST be fully seated in the hub bores. The Bearing Cup Installers included with TK4709 Master Kit are the best tools to properly install the cups without damaging the wheel hub or bearing cup surfaces. The Master Kit also includes a wheel seal installer that makes it easy to install your new wheel seals to the correct depth. The installer will not damage, ding, or bend the wheel seal and it keeps tension on the seal garter spring so the spring does not jump off the lip (a very common problem with makeshift seal installation methods).

Tech Note 5: Dodge W-250
The standard front axle on 1985-1993 Dodge W-250 3/4 ton 4x4 trucks with gasoline engines is a Dana 44 beam type front axle with Gross Axle Weight Rating (GAWR) of 3500 pounds. The end of the wheel hub measures about 3-5/8" in diameter and the spindle thread is 1-5/8". Standard on the diesel W-250 and optional on the gas W-250 was the 4500 pound rated Dana 60 front axle which has a front wheel hub that measures about 4-1/8" at the outer end and the spindle will have 2" threads.
