QK4647 Front Axle Inner Oil Seal Remover Set with 1-3/4" Driver Tip for many common front inner axle oil seals is a real time saver! Use to remove the inner axle shaft oil seals on any 4x4 solid front drive axle with axle housing tube inside diameters of 1-3/4" or larger and axle shaft seal inside diameters of 1-1/2" or smaller. This handy tool knocks out those tricky inner axle shaft seals in a flash! In addition, QK4647 lets you easily remove the 1-9/16" ID oil bath type front axle shaft oil seals on 1999-2004 Ford Super Duty and 2000-2005 Ford Excursion 4x4s without removing or damaging the fragile plastic axle tube guides. Space saving, two piece rod, threads together for removing the long side seal. Use just the long rod for knocking out the short side seal. For axles with axle tube inside diameters of under 1-3/4", use the nut as your remover tip. Kit includes QT1145 drive rod, QT1151 extension rod, QT1144 seal remover, and 2 QU95008 Grade 8 jam nuts. Both QT1145 and QT1151 are made from U.S. produced 1.25" diameter steel and have wrench flats machined in the shaft. Rods, Remover, and Nuts are USA Made. Finish on either rod may be either light Brown Oil Finish or Black Oxide (no choice)

Tech Note 2: Seal Installer Tools
The front inner axle shaft seals on Excursions and 1999 to 2004 Super Duty trucks can get really stuck to the housing. One way to break them free without wearing your arm out swinging a hammer is to use our Seal Installer Tools (QK4643, TS4643, QK4644, or TS4644) to break the old seals free. Once you get them to budge, remove the Installer and use QK4647 Tool Set to drive the seals out of the axle housing.
Tech Note 3: Before Installing
Once the seals are removed, you need to clean any dirt, grit, or crud out of the diff housing and axle tubes. After that, you can install your new seals. Seal installation is best done with our tooling made for your specific application. Sometimes you can get by with makeshift installers you cobble together, but in most cases, using makeshift tools just guarantees you get to do the job all over again!
Tech Note 4: To Install
Most inner axle seals are located right next to the differential and are impossible to replace without disassembling the axle up to and including the differential. Once everything except the pinion gear is removed, you drive the seals inward until they drop into the housing.
Tech Note 5: Tool Attachments
Our currently available attachments are:
QT1144: Fits axle tube inside diameters of 1.75" and larger. Max seal ID with rubber lip seals is 1.5", max seal diameter with oil bath type seal is 1-9/16" (used on Ford Excursion and Super Duty® Model 50 and 60 monobeam axles from 1999 to 2004). This remover fits most Model 30, Model 44, and GM 10 Bolt front axles. The outside diameter is made to fit through the inner plastic axle guides used on 1999-2004 Ford Super Duty and 2000-2005 Ford Excursion.
QT1214: Fits axle tube inside diameters of 2.00" and larger. Max seal ID 1-3/4". This remover fits most Model Model 44, Model 50, Model 60, Model 61, Model Super 60, Model 70, AAM 925, and GM 10 Bolt front axles with 3" or larger outside diameter axle tubes.
QT1216: Fits axle tube inside diameters of 2.25" and larger. Max seal ID 2". This remover is primarily made to remove the large bore, right side seal on 2000-2002 Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 trucks with vacuum controlled Central Axle Disconnect (CAD). It will also work on all to remove the left seals on the same model trucks, plus either seal on all 2002 and newer Dodge Ram 2500 and Ram 3500 models and all 2005 and newer Ford Super Duty® F-250, F-350, F450, and F-550 4x4s.
For Smaller Axles: For axle tube diameters between 1.50" and 1.75", you just use QU95008 nut as the remover.

This tool is heavy and you have to hit it hard to get the old seal out. It will probably last 5 lifetimes, but impossible to do without it.

Tool work great. You probably could figure out a way to remove the seals without it. But why? Works awsome, well worth the money. Just buy it.

Front inner axle seal remover QK4647
Extremely heavy duty, quality machined tool. Easily removes inner axle seals due to being pretty hefty. Machined flats make it easy to tighten nuts. Nice checkering on the handle end helped with greasy hands. -Dave

Quality tool and made in Montana!!!
I have worked on 4x4s all my life and it has always been a chore to get the inner axle seals removed. Not any more just a couple of wacks with a 3lb. hammer and out she comes. Quality made in Montana USA!!

Dana 50 Inner seal removal
I bought this tool to remove the front inner seals on my Excursion front end, they were leaking oil. The price was a lot for a one time use item but it was better than what I use to do with a long pipe and jimmy rigging. The tools works as described and I had no issues with it. It is better to use this than the homemade stuff people talk about on youtube, it's worth the money in time and lack of stress.

The design and machining are first rate. The seal remover worked perfectly as did the installer tool. I was annoyed I had to spend hundreds to do the job. The ease of doing the job with this tool set more than offset the annoyance. Highly recommended.
