Tech Note 1: Wear
There are two places where you might find wear on your original Fork. The most common and obvious area to find wear is at the tips. When the plastic shift pads wear out or break off, the friction between the soft iron Fork and hardened steel shift collar will grind down the fork tips. Less common, and often overlooked as a cause of shifting problems is wear in the hole the actuator rod fits through. Vibration from rough roads, can, over time wear the hole oversize. The oversize hole permits the shift Fork to cock under load which also puts uneven pressure on the Sliding Collar. Result: erratic shift performance.

Tech Note 2: Kit Contents
This Kit includes the Genuine Dana Aluminum Fork and 2 Pads. Dana has discontinued the Cast Iron Fork & replaced it with the Aluminum Fork included in this kit.
