TK42104 Chromoly 19 Spline Outer Axle Shaft for GM Dana 44 & 10 Bolt Front Axles

TK42104 Torque King Chromoly High Performance 19 Spline Outer Axle Shaft is a USA Made, thru-hardened, direct fit, high performance 19 spline outer axle shaft for 1970-1981 GM Dana 44 and 1977-1991 GM 10 bolt front axles. USA Made from a high-quality, American Chrome-Moly forging.

Note: 1970-1972.5 Axles originally had 1310 series (1-1/16" cup size) Axle U-Joints. TK42104 is made to take Spicer 1350WJ type axle u-joints (1-3/16" cup size) used on all 1972.5-1980 GM Dana 44 and 1977-1991 GM 10 Bolt 4zx4 Front Axles. If you have a 1970-1972.5 (or 1969 Blazer), you will have to upgrade your inner axle shaft and your axle u-joints to Spicer 1350 series type.

Tech Note 1: U-Joint Specs
TK42106 Right (Short Side) Inner Axle Shaft takes universal joints made to Spicer 1350WJ dimensional specifications. The cup diameter for these u-joints is 1-3/16". The 4 cups are grooved to accept Inside C-Clip Snap Rings. The installed Clips fit against the machined inner faces of the axle shaft yokes. The distance between the inside of the axle shaft yoke ears is be 2-3/16". For matching u-joints, see TK40712 and QU90007.

Tech Note 2: 1970-1972 GM Dana 44 Front Axles
For the 1969-1972.5 model years, GM used a small 1310 series axle u-joint with a 1-1/16" cap diameter. GM switched to the stronger 1350WJ axle u-joints with 1-3/16" cup diameter in mid-1972. If you have the early, 1969-1972.5 small u-joint axle shafts, you will need to replace both the inner and outer shafts. To match TK42104 outer shaft, order TK42105 Left Inner Axle Shaft and TK42106 Right Inner Axle Shaft. FOR ALL 1970-1972 AXLES: You will also need to order the newer type QU40058 Outer Axle Shaft Slinger, QU40071 spindle seal and QU40070 axle shaft thrust washer. Note: When the open knuckle Dana 44 front axle was first introduced in 1969 Blazer/Jimmy the inner axle shaft lengths were 1" shorter than 1970 and newer GM Dana 44 front axle applications. TK42104, TK42105, TK42106 do NOT fit these narrow 1969 axles!
