Tech Note 1: Product Note
QU40907 is a pretty tight press fit on the slip yoke. However, if the slip yoke vent hole is plugged or you pump grease in at a fast rate, it is possible to force the seal off the slip yoke with your grease.
Tech Note 2: Commonly Used
The most common use of QU40907 Seal is on rebuilt driveshafts. Chances are, any 1957-1990 light truck or SUV driveshaft with a replacement 1-3/8" slip stub with full length splines/slip yoke combination installed by a professional shop after 1979 will have a QU40907 Seal. Most driveshafts from vehicles built after this era will never require a new slip stub/yoke combination as they use a slip joint protected by a very effective boot instead of a seal.
