Tech Note 1: Tubing
Driveshaft tubing is typically more concentric, straighter, and has a higher Rockwell hardness rating when compared to general purposed tubing. A driveshaft needs to be re-tubed any time the tube is bent, dinged or creased. Re-tubing a driveshaft is best done by a qualified driveline shop that can balance the finished assembly, however any competent machinist with a long bed lathe can successfully re-tube a driveshaft.
