QU40758 Greaseable Driveshaft U-Joint for AAM 1344, S44 or 3R Series

QU40758 Greaseable S44, AAM 1344, or 3R Series Driveshaft Universal Joint for many Dodge and General Motors front or rear driveshafts from the mid 1970's to current. QU40758 is a hot-forged, alloy steel, greaseable u-joint with nitrile rubber seals. You will find this u-joint used in both CV and non CV applications. On Double-Cardan Constant Velocity Joints, two of these u-joints are used in the CV head.

QU40758 universal joint is made to Mechanics 3R and Saginaw S44 dimensional specifications. The cup diameter is 1-1/8" and it will fit yokes that have an inside width of 2-9/16".

Tech Note 1: C-Clips
This universal joint uses c-clips that fit against the inside of the yoke ears to retain the cups in the yokes. Original equipment universal joints did not use c-clips, instead, molten plastic was injected into the grooves machined in the yokes and factory u-joint cups. If your driveshaft still has factory universal joints, you will need to shear the injected plastic retainers before you can remove the old u-joint.
