TK40725 Torque King® Cold-Forged Driveshaft Universal Joint

TK40725 Torque King® Cold-Forged Driveshaft Universal Joint for many Dodge and General Motors front or rear driveshafts from the mid 1970's to current. TK40725 is a USA Made, premium quality, heavy-duty factory-lubed Universal Joint for Mechanics 3R and Saginaw S44 series applications. TK40725 features extra-hard, cold-forged, alloy steel cross, High-temperature synthetic lubricant, Multi-lip seals, precision ground cups, tough, durable thrust washers between the journal ends and cups, and corrosion resistant Internal C-Clip type Snap Rings. You will find this u-joint used in both CV and non CV applications. On Double-Cardan Constant Velocity Joints, two of these u-joints are used in the CV head. TK40725 universal joint is made to Mechanics 3R and Saginaw S44 dimensional specifications. The cup diameter is 1-1/8" and it will fit yokes that have an inside width of 2-9/16".

Tech Note 1: C-Clips
This universal joint uses c-clips that fit against the inside of the yoke ears to retain the cups in the yokes. Original equipment universal joints did not use c-clips, instead, molten plastic was injected into the grooves machined in the yokes and factory u-joint cups. If your driveshaft still has factory universal joints, you will need to shear the injected plastic retainers before you can remove the old u-joint.
