TK40721 Torque King® 1330 Series Premium Quality Universal Joint is a USA Made, premium quality, heavy-duty factory-lubed Universal Joint for Spicer 1330 series applications. TK40721 features extra-hard, cold-forged, alloy steel cross, High-temperature synthetic lubricant, Multi-lip seals, precision ground cups, tough, durable thrust washers between the journal ends and cups, and corrosion resistant External Snap Rings. TK40721 meets or exceeds original equipment specifications for any North American built light truck that uses universal joints made to Spicer 1330 series dimensional specifications from the 1970's to the present day. TK40721 will fit mainly Ford applications up to 1993, and primarily Dodge and Jeep driveshafts from 1994-on. Made in U.S.A.

Tech Note 1:  Cold-Forged Cross
The cross on Torque King® universal joints is cold-forged instead of hot-forged like conventional universal joints. The cold-forged cross has a more consistent grain structure and harder journals making it highly resistant to wear from the bearing rollers. The long-lasting, high quality, factory applied lubrication is kept in and contaminants are kept out by an o-ring type, internal triple lip cup seal protected by an outer plastic deflector. Under almost any conditions, a properly installed Torque King® universal joint will outlast any conventional greaseable universal joint by a wide margin, especially in Diesel rear driveshaft applications.

Tech Note 2: Ford
For 1330 series Ford applications, you always have to check to see if the diameter of all 4 cups are the same. On many Ford driveshafts with Single-Cardan (1 u-joint) yokes, you will find a modified 1330 u-joint with 1-1/16" diameter cups pressed in the driveshaft yoke, and 1-1/8" cups bolted to the axle or transfer case yoke. The larger diameter cups have thicker walls which are more resistant to deformation from the u-bolts that typically attach the universal joint to the gear box yoke on these older vehicles. These special universal joints which are our part number TK40723 or QU40776 are referred to as series 1330F or 1330SP.

Tech Note 3: External Snap Ring
TK40721 is an external snap ring type universal joint made to Spicer 1330 series dimensional specifications. The u-joint cup diameter is 1-1/16" (26.99 mm). The overall width is 3-5/8" (92.08 mm). For greaseable u-joints, see QU40774.
