TK40586 Torque King® Dodge W300, W350 Dana 70 35 Spline Full Floating Rear Axle Shaft for Dual Rear Wheel 1971-1990 Dodge W300, W350 Narrow Track DANA 70 Rear Axles are extra strong, fully hardened, USA made, high performance alloy steel axle shafts for Dana 70 full-floating rear axles in 1971 to 1990 Dodge Ram 350 4x4 or 4x2 chassis cab trucks with 34" wide frames and dual rear wheels. Two lengths to choose from depending upon rear axle width, see Tech Note 2 below. 100% Made in U.S.A. from American forgings. Note: This shaft has straight bolt holes so your original split tapered bushings are not used. We recommend you replace the original Grade 5 Studs with our optional, high-strength QU40306 Grade 9 Flange Bolts.

Tech Note 1: Inner Ends
With one exception (See Tech Note 5), 1971-1990 Dodge D/W350 series truck Dana 70 Rear Axle Shafts have 1-1/2" 35 spline inner ends. Both left and right axle shafts are the same length on a given axle.
Tech Note 2: Narrow or Wide Track?
Dodge built 1971-1990 duallys with both narrow track and wide track Dana 70 rear axles. Narrow track axles are typically found on cab and chassis models with 34" wide frame rails. Wide track axles were used on pickup models or cab and chassis trucks with 37" frame rails. TK40586 Narrow track axle shafts measure 36.94" from splined end to inside face of the axle shaft flange. TK40585 Wide track axle shafts measure 39.44" from splined end to inside face of the axle shaft flange
Tech Note 3: TK40585 Fits:
TK40585 is for 1974-1990 Dodge D350 and W350 wide-track DRW pickups, trucks and Air Force Tow Vehicles with these BOM numbers: 603436, 603696, 605192, 605215, 605270, 605407, 605408, and 605489. Length is 39.44".
Tech Note 4: TK40586 Fits:
TK40586 fits 1971-1990 Dodge D350 and W350 narrow-track DRW Cab and Chassis trucks with these BOM tag numbers: 603242, 603695, 603995, 605214, 605269, 605313, and 605373. Length is 36.93".
Tech Note 5: BOM 605513
1987 to 1990 D/W350 Pickups and wide track trucks with BOM tag number 605513 have 1-3/8" x 32 spline axle shafts and use TK40582 Shafts.
Tech Note 6: Wear
If your axle shaft splines are worn (a common occurrence), chances are the differential side gear splines are also worn. Installing a new axle shaft in worn gears will result in accelerated axle shaft spline wear which is not covered by our parts warranty. Replace worn differential side gears when replacing an axle shaft with visible spline wear!
