QU40576 includes these genuine Dana parts: Pinion Depth Shims, Pinion Preload Shims, Differential Adjusting Shims, Axle Shaft Snap Ring (1983-up axles), Pinion Nut and Pinion Washer.

Tech Note 1: Shim Type
Ford Dana 50IFS axles typically use QU40527 Inner Oil Baffle PLUS one of two shim types for setting pinion depth. Method 1 for 1988 and earlier axles had the pinion height set by a combination of QU40527 baffle and shims under the pinion bearing cup and a slinger shim between the inner pinion bearing and pinion head. Method 2 replaced Method 1 starting in 1989 for both new axles and for servicing 1980-1988 axles., Method 2 uses thick, selective fit shims between the inner bearing and pinion head and QU40527 baffle under the inner bearing cup

Tech Note 2: Slinger size
1980-1987 axles have QU40028 0.030" thick, 4-1/8" diameter slinger under the pinion bearing. 1989-1991 axles used a 4-1/8" diameter, selective fit slinger/shim between the inner pinion bearing and pinion head. 1992-1997 axles have a 2-1/4" diameter selective fit shim that goes in the same location. QU40576 Kit works on all 1980-1997 Dana 50 IFS front axles. It includes 1992-1997 type, 2-1/4" diameter, selective fit, inner pinion shims. The 4-1/8" diameter slinger has been eliminated by Dana engineers, but you still need to use QU40527 baffle under the inner pinion bearing cup. QU40527 baffle is NOT included with this Kit and it must be ordered separately
