Tech Note 1: Before Installing
Lubricate the seal lip and yoke shaft with clean grease or petroleum jelly to provide initial lubrication.
Tech Note 2: Fits AAM 1485 Series Specs
QU40495 is made to fit universal joints made to American Axle Manufacturing 1485 series specifications. The cup diameter is 1.375" and the overall joint width is 4.178". DO NOT use universal joints made to Spicer 1480 series specifications which are 0.010" too wide to fit this Yoke!!!
Tech Note 3: Length
QU40495 is 9-25/64" long from the end of spline to the center of the u-joint hole. It is made to fit either 31 spline or 30 based on 31 spline shafts.

More driveshaft yokes are wrecked by slam-bang methods of u-joint replacement than by any other cause. Refer to TM3000 Driveshaft and Universal Joint Manual or TSB3502 External Snap Ring Single-Cardan U-Joint Service Bulletin.
