QU40443 Limited Slip Clutch Kit for 1986-2007 Dodge 9-1/4" Rear Axle is an original equipment replacement Limited Slip Differential Clutch Set for Chrysler Dodge 9-1/4" rear axles used in many popular 1986-2007 Dodge mid-size and full-size models up to light duty 3/4 tons. QU40443 includes both left and right clutch packs. Each Pack has 4 round Clutch Discs, 4 Tabbed Clutch Discs, Tabbed Steel Concave Thrust Washer, plus 4 QU40544 Keeper Keys.

Tech Note 1: Lubricate Clutch Discs
The Clutch Discs MUST BE PRESOAKED in QU40218 or equivalent Limited Slip Friction Modifier prior to assembly. You will also need to run Limited Slip Lubricant as an additive to your rear axle gear oil. The amount of additive required is usually 5 ounces, but it may vary by year and model so you should refer to your Dodge Owners Manual for the exact quantity recommended for your particular vehicle.

Tech Note 2: Differential Bearing Adjusters
The Differential Bearing Adjusters on Chrysler 9-1/4" Rear Axles are adjusted using tool QT1045 which is inserted into each axle tube until the hex coupler engages the hex hole in the axle adjuster.

Tech Note 3: You Should Also Replace
When servicing your limited slip clutches, you should as a minimum, also replace:
Wheel Seals (On Full Size models, Verify if you have standard or heavy axle)
Differential Cover Gasket
Cross Shaft Lock Bolt

Inspect these additional parts and replace as needed:
Differential Bearings and Cups (If these are worn or pitted, consider also replacing the pinion bearings/seal/crush sleeve)
Wheel Bearings (On Full Size models, Verify if you have standard or heavy axle)
Brake Shoes, Cylinders, and Hardware
Axle Shaft C-Clips
Axle Shafts

And Don't Forget to check your Axle Breather Hose, Vent, and Axle Fitting is clear!
